This one goes all the way back to my New York years, around 2007–2008. At the time, I remember being on a bit of a mission: hunting for countertenor repertoire that didn’t automatically land on Baroque arias. I was curious to try out different vocal routes and very much open to unexpected material.
That’s when this Cirque du Soleil soundtrack caught my ear. It felt atmospheric, ethereal, and cinematic — so I decided to record it right there in my Brooklyn apartment.
Social media, as we know, didn’t exist yet — no Facebook, no Instagram, no TikTok. I remember posting it on Myspace, and the feedback was surprisingly warm and encouraging. A small thing, but at that time it meant a lot to me.
Different city (Berlin), different chapter — same curiosity 🤓
Happy Monday Throwback 🎶
